This past week my two older siblings and I stayed at our grandparents house for a few days. One afternoon while everyone was resting, I went for a walk around my grandparents’ property. It’s amazing what kind of insignificant, often overlooked, objects trigger memories! 🙂 Wonderful memories of playing with cousins, seeing aunts and uncles, and spending time with grandparents.
I hope you enjoy the photos. I enjoyed taking them! 🙂
The trusty pine tree in our grandparents’ front yard. The limbs are spaced out perfectly for climbing! 🙂
Some people would call these lampposts out-dated, but I can’t imagine the house without them.
The buttercups were already blooming!
I love the way this photo turned out! 🙂
The awesome slide! Burns your skin in the summer and freezes your buns in the winter! …but when you’re having fun, you don’t notice. 🙂
Barbed wire fence… again, I can’t imagine the house without it. 🙂
This is the field behind the old farmhouse we used to live in when we lived up the road from our grandparents.
Handprints frozen in time. When our grandparents poured concrete for their barn foundation, all the grandkids put their handprints in the wet concrete. 🙂 There weren’t as many grandkids back then as there are now!
This is my handprint… and hand. 🙂
